»Zeit für Gaza« (Time for Gaza), is a loose series of events at Literaturhaus Berlin dedicated to the complex, often invisible reality of Gaza, highlighting literature as a tool of remembrance, resistance and self-determination. This evening will focus on Palestinian authors‘ international perspective on the ongoing Nakba. Nakba, meaning »catastrophe« or »misfortune« in Arabic and originally refers to the expulsion and flight of Arab Palestinians during the 1947–1949 war. As many writers express in their work, it is now often understood to be a continuing process of dispossession and destruction of Palestinian life.
